About Me

My name is Martha McCarthy and I have been creating original, hand drawn pastel pet portraits for the last several years. This pursuit came after retiring from 21 years of teaching elementary and high school art. While trying to raise money for myself to go on a missions trip to Lebanon I started drawing pets. The more I drew the more I loved it and was being commissioned to draw more than I could ever imagine. When I was in Lebanon, I used my talent to draw caricatures for some of the students and adults there. They presented me with a beautiful painted plaque that says: “Your talent is God’s gift to you, what you do with it is your gift back to God.”
